Mr. Hand is the Chairman of the Board of POWER Engineers, a global consulting engineering and services firm specializing in delivery of integrated solutions for energy, facilities, environmental and federal markets. Founded in 1976, POWER Engineers is an employee-owned company with over 45 offices in 4 countries and is ranked as one of the top engineering firms in the United States.

Jack earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University. He joined POWER in August 1992, became the T&D Division Manager in 1996 and was appointed President and CEO in 1998, holding that position until May of 2016. Jack’s experience is focused on power systems, and he has been extensively involved in renewable and fossil power generation projects as well.

Jack is a 30-year member of IEEE.  He is also the chairman of the ACEC Energy & Environmental Committee and is leading the effort to generate a National Energy Policy to submit to Congress. Through Jack, POWER is a charter member of EnvisionTM, a joint effort of the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Jack is working with EnvisionTM to create guidelines for the EnvisionTM Project Rating System for electrical facilities.

Mr. Hand’s current responsibilities entail providing the strategic vision for POWER Engineers, concentrating on creating a sustainable company focused on its employees and clients. Also, a top priority is developing new energy markets and opportunities for POWER Engineers. His focus will continue to be in smart and efficient power delivery and generation systems.
